It’s almost officially Detroit Techno Week and that can only mean one thing: Movement Electronic Music Festival. To add on to all of the festivities, we here at Curated Music have teamed up with our friends at War Torn Entertainment to bring three nights of bumping parties to Detroit on the river. Join us Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights as we celebrate Movement, Detroit, and Summer. All of the events are located at Sindbad’s at 100 St Clair St Detroit, MI 48214.
Saturday night’s event, aka “Saturday Night Fever” will feature the talented DJ Swamp and west coast’s WALA as well as a great group of local support. ENTER BELOW TO WIN TICKETS:
When we heard that our favorite side project duo EVER, aka PANTyRAiD, aka Ooah (of The Glitch Mob) and MartyParty, were coming to play a special performance through our friends at My Best Friends Party in Columbus Ohio, we knew we could not miss out on the action. So we are going to head down to visit out neighbors to the South on such a joyous occasion that is a PANTyRAiD performance. The show is at The Bluestone and will feature support from Attak & Carma as well as Eric Evasion and many others. Tickets are still available online (and while they last at doors) but you can test your luck by entering our contest to WIN A PAIR OF TICKETS to see PANTyRAiD in their first ever Ohio appearance.
Next week, East Lansing, Michigan will become one big party. It isn’t March Madness and it isn’t Spring Break, but it’s much larger than that: it’s global electronic dance music sensation Kaskade, and he is ready to take the Michigan State University town and own it. It is about time that the beautifully progressive electronic listening community of East Lansing got an event of this caliber. The event, produced by RECESS, will feature local support from Project K and will showcase way more than just dank music with “a progressive speaker series featuring leading entrepreneurs discussing a variety of topics including innovation, startups, personal branding, and career obstacles.” There will also be a career fair running in line with the speaker series all put together by Intern Sushi. Tickets are still available online. We hope to see you there!
We are very excited for this event and to share our anticipation, we would like to GIVEAWAY A FREE PAIR OF TICKETS to one lucky winner! To enter the contest, check out the box below:

When we think of live music these days, its hard to not rank Big Gigantic as one of the growing greats.”We’re always just trying to learn from where we were at, from what we’ve done, and really try to push the envelope” expounds Big Gigantic producer and saxophonist Dominic Lalli, “Getting better, getting bigger, we’re definitely in that business.” Performing on a level that rivals any touring group in music today, Big Gigantic has gotten in the habit of doing things huge. On the front-end of their Winter Tour 2013, Dominic and drummer, Jeremy Salken are prepping for the biggest Big Gigantic tour yet. We had a minute to catch up with Dom yesterday and posted our phone Q&A below.
The Big Gigantic Winter Tour 2013 kicked off last week with a handful of dates in the south with support from trill twins Two Fresh. The tour features a brand new stage design that is bigger, badder, and better than anything you have seen from Big Gigantic before. With thirty stops on the tour, there is so much to look forward to. “We’re playing some awesome venues that we’ve never gotten to headline”, Dom excitedly explains, “We’re going to lots of places we really love to go too. It’s cool to be back in a lot of these cities”. The tour continues with support from Kill Paris, Manic Focus, and HeRobust on select dates.
We are also excited to hear that Big Gigantic is planning on releasing a new album come Fall. Dom tells us about keeping his production levels high on the road, “I’m always trying to figure out how to become more efficient. All I’m doing is working on music the whole time on this tour.” he explains. We are thankful for that and can’t wait to hear what the dynamic duo have in store for their fifth album. For now we can be sure to sneak some previews of the new tunes on this tour.
You can catch Big Gigantic on any of the Winter Tour 2013 stops. Big G rolls into Michigan this Friday, February 8th for a sold out performance at The Orbit Room in Grand Rapids followed by a huge show on Saturday, February 9th at Royal Oak Music Theater in Royal Oak. Get your tickets now because you definitely do not want to be left out. “This tour is turning out to be the best tour ever,” Dom proudly boasts and we look forward to being able to attest to that!

On the front end of their Winter Tour, Big Gigantic has huge plans to bring their all on the 30 stop adventure. Bringing along friends Two Fresh, Kill Paris, Manic Focus, and HeRobust on select dates, it appears that there will be some crazy shenanigans taking place on that bus (not to mention the potential collaborations!). The Winter Tour will be selling out most of their dates and we expect for sell outs for both Michigan Dates. Big Gigantic will be rolling into Michigan on Feb. 8th in Grand Rapids at the Orbit Room and then playing the next night on Feb. 9th in Royal Oak at the Royal Oak Music Theater. Tickets are on sale for all tour dates now or you can test your luck and try and win tickets to your choice of either of the Michigan dates!
The Bloody Beetroots have announced that they will be hosting a remix competition for their circa 2008 tune “Cornelius”. The contest, ending on January 31st, will land the winner’s tune in the setlist of the next Bloody Beetroots LIVE show. Here is what Sir Bob of The Bloody Beetroots reported from the DJs’ website:
“It was 2008 when “Cornelius” was first released, many memories permeates through that period of chaos and madness. This is my gift to you: the parts of one of the most popular tracks i’ve ever produced : CORNELIUS.”
