Wouldn’t it be something if an event the size of X Games came to our hometown of Detroit? Well, the dream may be more of a reality now that Detroit is one of four finalists to be the next host for the Summer X Games in 2014, 15′, and 16′ thanks to Kevin Krease & Garret Koehler who took their passion to the internet and gathered a huge following. There couldn’t be a city who needs an event like this more than Detroit and to see our bid go this far is great. It is time now, to step up to the plate and begin supporting the bid like you couldn’t have thought of. Up against Chicago, Charlotte, and Austin, we have a great chance to show the World that not only is our urban playground the perfect venue for the X Games but our community is the perfect demographic for this event. With the support of seemingly every Detroit representative and business owner, the team has been able to build credit for Detroit and will hopefully soon call this city the proud home of the Summer X Games!
Today, the XGamesDetroit crew released this stunning official video documenting a taste of our urban landscape meshed with insane extreme sports. We hope you find this as amazing as we do and we also hope you can join the cause!

Just about a week ago, Diplo, Skrillex, and A-trak revealed a new project with the name “Potato Will Eat You“. Packaged with a couple unique Youtube snippets and a very popular hashtag #PotatoWillEatYou, we were itching to know the idea behind this strange little potato character popping up on all of our news feeds. A few days later our speculations were put to rest and we were excited to learn that Potato Will Eat You is a brand new Youtube Music Network that will rival the golden days of MTV. The network will play host to all original video series including titles, ”Blow Your Head”, “Cosmo’s Crates”, “Short Cuts”, “Listen Up! With Ralph Moore”, “Video Killed The Radio”, “Big Time #1 Super Adventures With Fat Jew”, and “BANG!” plus tons of video & audio premieres, DJ mixes, and much more. The first videos to be released by the future media hub is the first episode of “BANG!” (features tons of amazing Detroit footage) and a preview of “Blow Your Head” and we are very impressed! We will be keeping our eyes peeled to Potato Will Eat You with hopes that they can restore MUSIC into videos! #PotatoWillEatYou
Houston natives and bass heavy Feature Cuts have been on the up and up this past year. To celebrate their first release of the new year, Feature Cuts has decided to release his remix of Drake’s “Started From The Bottom“. The tune takes the classic Drake track and reworks it into a filthy dubstep bass banger! The remix and official music video were featured and premiered on Vibe Magazine‘s Vibe.com. We hope you check out the tune, watch the music video, and grab your free download. To quote Feature Cuts on the release:
“It’s been a little over a year now, and what a crazy trip this has been thus far. Sometimes I am overwhelmed with the reality that I live. However, at the end of the day I just take some time to remember what it was like when I first started. I truly hope that everyone who pursues their dreams may achieve them. Struggles make the reward sweeter. There’s still a ways to go, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.”

Last August we had the honor of sitting down with prolific producer and turntable wizard RJD2 for the seventh edition of Curated Conversations. We discussed everything from touring at festivals to digging for records. RJD2 has been a household name in the beat and hip-hop communities since the early 2000′s and has experienced tremendous success since then. Where others who have followed in his footsteps have failed to capitalize on what’s in front of them, RJ has always done different. RJD2′s music speaks to generations of music lovers and he will forever be held in a spotlight as the producer that pushed boundaries and paved the way for many to follow. In the world of RJD2, he has just begun to show the world what he is all about. We are excited to see what is in the future for RJD2 and we are excited to present our interview with the brilliant producer. RJD2 is coming to our hometown of Detroit this Saturday, Feb. 12th at The Majestic Theater with our good friend SuperVision. You can get tickets through Detroit Dubstep here. Residing in Chicago but popping up in neighborhoods across the country, Regulators are on the verge of an enormous year. The turnt up producer duo have been building on the Regulators name for less than a year now and have already earned themselves a very dedicated family of fans. Wanting to showcase the energy that they vibe when playing live, Regulators turned to the video wizards at House Life to produce this fresh promo video. Featuring an unnamed tune from their upcoming Midwest Motel EP, this video leaves us wishing we could party at a Regulators show right NOW! In the meantime, we will be following all of Regulators’ activity to make sure we don’t miss anything. Check out this sick video and see why you must know Regulators:
Late last year, Kill The Noise revealed his banging track entitled “Black Magic“. The tune inspired the name for his OWSLA backed EP and also deserved the self ranking status of “Kill The Noise Pt. 2″. Now, Kill The Noise is showing the world his dark side with a “Celebrity Deathmatch” esque claymation video that comes from the brains of demons. Premiered by Vice Magazine’s Noisey, This official music video is no short of extreme. Check out the brilliant yet twisted flick, but keep in mind it is not meant for the young and squeamish. Cheers!

Since the drop of their teaser video a couple weeks ago along with the announcement of the release we have been patiently awaiting the drop of Hot Sauce EP from our favorite Canadian bass producers Zeds Dead. A couple days ago, Zeds Dead have released a minimix of the album to give their fans a taste, it held us over for a minute, but nothing can do justice to the full release in entirety. This is the most eclectic and wide array of sounds we have heard from the talented duo ever perhaps. Spanning across all genres of music, Zeds Dead can validate themselves as producers adept to any scene. Hot Sauce EP is music we are most definitely getting down to and we know you will too. You can purchase the EP on iTunes and Beatport and you can catch Zeds Dead kicking off festival season early at Lollapalooza Brazil and Lollapalooza Argentina in March and April respectively, as well as a posted stop at Chicago’s React Presents: Spring Awakening Music Festival in June. We also expect to see them on a large number of other festivals and tour dates throught the year. Hot Suace EP will be cranking on our speakers!
