FESTY NEWS: Wavefront Music Festival Announces Second Wave Lineup (Tickets On Sale Now)

This year, they plan to top it all with another huge lineup on Chicago’s hottest electronic beachfront festival. The festival, taking place July 5th-7th will feature some of the biggest names in dance music today and is sure to be a hot spot for some amazing and unique opportunities. Think American Ibiza. This festival will bring together talent that usually wouldn’t happen unless it was down in Miami or over in Europe (Or of course, in Detroit for Movement). Gaining a large magnitude of support from mainstream media, Wavefront 2013 will be in the spotlight come July and we are excited to bring you all of the freshest coverage. FESTY NEWS: Lollapalooza 2013 Insane Full Lineup Leaked

904613_528810750504722_1237043189_oIt is always exciting reading through Lollapalooza’s past classic and huge lineups and this year seems to be just as satisfying. Leaked from sources unknown, this picture of the supposed 2013 Lollapalooza lineup confirms that Chicago has another massive festival coming to it’s city. Tickets for Lolla went on sale this past Tuesday with general admission selling out in a matter of hours. Lollapalooza scheduled their official lineup announcement for April 6th, but this photo is just as good as real.

Headlined by The Killers, Nine Inch Nails, Phoenix, Postal Service, and many other huge names, Lolla will also feature electronic artists like Dillon Francis, Flux Pavilion, Knife Party, and our favorite out of the whole lineup: GRiZ!

Lollapalooza will be held August 2-4 in Chicago at Grant Park. Single day, VIP, platinum, and travel packages still available.

Proudly hosted once again at Soldier Field, SAMF has revealed a lineup that is perhaps larger than the championship team that calls the turf home. The massive world class dance music festival and will feature previously announced headliners Bassnectar & Calvin Harris. Planned to be bigger than anyone can imagine, SAMF 2013 has expanded their grounds and an expected 75,000 attendees will embrace historic Soldier Field for THREE full days (June 14-16) versus two in 2012. FESTY NEWS: Massive Coachella 2013 Lineup Sees Light Of Day

Boasting just about every relevant artist under the sun (with the exception of Daft Punk), Coachella 2013 is shaping up to be one of the largest scale linueps of any music festival ever. Bringing together artists from The Postal Service to Wu Tang Clan and everything in between, Coachella pulled out all tricks and surprises on this one. We imagine that when tickets go on sale Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 10AM PT, they won’t be up for long before they will be promptly sold out. 2013 is looking to be a huge year for Coachella and a huge year for festivals in general. With STS9, The Black Crowes, and Snoop Lion atop the list, the festival proves to stay eclectic and original. We are quite positive you will not find a lineup like this anywhere else in the world. Wakarusa 2013 is going to be absolutely huge. From GRiZ to Gogol Bordello, this is by far the biggest lineup that Waka has ever repped. We cannot wait to be back up on Mulberry Mountain!

FESTY NEWS: UPDATE – CounterPoint Music Festival Staying In Atlanta

1336488169-counterpointEarlier this week we reported on an article that originated from the Huson Valley’s Daily Freeman Newspaper and quickly caught wind around the edm festival blogosphere. The article reported the acquisition of the proper approval from the Town Board of Saugerties, NY that would allow for a music festival to be held this July on the same land that once held Woodstock ’94. The article goes on to reference that the MCP Presents festival, CounterPoint Music Festival, which launched its first year last Summer in Atlanta, is rumored to be the festival in play, saying the Town Board granted unanimous “approval for the considerably smaller CounterPoint Music and Arts Festival to be held July 11-13 at the Winston Farm”. The article was published on January 11th by the Daily Freeman. Ultimately, this can all be chalked up to one big rumor.

First of all, we would like to apologize to our followers and fellow bloggers for jumping the gun on reporting from a shotty source. Although, we are still unclear about the exact details of the Town Board meeting in Saugerties, we are sure of one thing: CounterPoint Music Festival will be STAYING in Atlanta. This morning we received an email from CounterPoint Music Festival’s press relations team, Caren West PR, that cleared up the most important part of this rumor: Atlanta is the home of CounterPoint and CounterPoint is NOT moving to New York. The other topic in the issue surrounding MCP Presents’ involvement with the addition of another upstate New York festival are still not clear and will not be considered official until news is reported from MCP themselves. CounterPoint 2013 will return to Atlanta later in the Summer and will be a festival that YOU cannot miss! Stay tuned to CounterPoint’s Facebook page for daily updates!

FESTY NEWS: CounterPoint Music Festival Making The Move To New York?

Now, news is breaking from The Hudson Valley’s Daily Freeman newspaper that the Saugerties, NY town board approved the use of land at Winston Farm, the site that once held Woodstock 94, for a new proposed CounterPoint Music Festival to be held July 11th-13th. The proposed new CounterPoint Music Festival is reported to take the place of the over a decade old Camp Bisco Festival, also previously held in upstate New York (and also co-produced by MCP Presents, who are behind CounterPoint). We are still not sure of what is to come in regards to this news and in regard to whether or not there will be Atlanta dates for CounterPoint as well. The Daily Freeman article goes on to discuss the potential lineup announcement planned to take place within the next two weeks, so keep your eyes out for more news.

FESTY NEWS: Ultra Music Festival 2013 Approved By City For Second Weekend

If you haven’t heard, Ultra Music Festival recently found themselves caught up in some tricky politics as The City of Miami attempted to put a halt to the second weekend of UMF 2013. This is the first year that UMF has expanded to a double weekend festival and if Ultra’s track record stays to par, the festival will benefit the City tremendously. Ultimately, the City of Miami decided in favor of the second weekend of Ultra Music Festival 2013 and the party will go on as planned. Well, maybe a bit larger than planned. Below we quote the UMF Facebook post regarding the whole matter:

“Yes, it’s all systems go and we are moving full steam ahead!!! ULTRA Music Festival will make history in 2013 as the world’s first ever ELECTRONIC music festival to take place over two weekends on March 15-17 and March 22-24 in celebration of our 15 Year Anniversary.

We appreciate the incredible support of the city of Miami Commission, Mayor, Bayfront Park Management Trust, and Fire and Police Departments, as together we have implemented a logistical plan that addresses everyone’s concerns, including those of local residents and businesses, allowing us to move forward and focus on producing the first rate, world class event ULTRA has become.

We’re extremely excited about the double-weekend celebration that will take place at the world’s most beautiful event location, Bayfront Park & Biscayne Blvd, in the heart of the Magic City, Downtown Miami.
