The cement and concrete of Hart Plaza is getting ready take on another year of huge loving crowds and Earth shaking bass and we are going to be there to witness another year of Movement in it’s entirety. Led by event production powerhouse Paxahau, the Movement brand has distinguished itself as one of the most unique and appreciated festivals in all of the world. FESTY NEWS: Electric Forest 2013 To Upgrade Size Of Sherwood Forest As ‘Plug In’ Program Allows For More Art (Human Avatar Re-Cap Video)

Screen-Shot-2013-02-20-at-4.52.10-PMIt looks like fans attending Electric Forest this June are in for a special treat. For the first time since the opening of the Double JJ Ranch as a festival site, the infamous Sherwood Forest will be expanding in size! In honor of the upgrade, the festival has invited artists from all over the globe to participate in the Electric Forest 2013 ‘Plug In’ Program. The program gives participants the chance to have their proposed art installation sponsored and showcased by the festival. Planning on only granting one winner, the support for the program was evidently overwhelming leaving the Plug In team with the chance to select a few more winners. Beginning with The Cerebrum of Sherwood Forest, the first selection, the team will now select 3 new installations to join the Cerebrum creation which is the brainchild of Imago Collective.

Today we are excited to announce the second winner to become sponsored. The Electric Garden installation spawned from the unique and creatively charged minds of Laura Edelman and Dave Sumberg or otherwise known as Das’LaLa. The installation is “an interactive, electronic, touch-sensitive garden that glows brightly upon human touch”. Described as an electroluminescent field, The Electric Garden is guaranteed to be the perfect addition to The Sherwood Forest. We are super stoked to see what the rest of the winners have in store for us.

FESTY NEWS: Wavefront Music Festival Announces Second Wave Lineup (Tickets On Sale Now)

plexipr_FlyersecondwavefulllineupIt’s time for the second annual Wavefront Music Festival to takeover Montrose Beach in Chicago, Illinois. This year, they plan to top it all with another huge lineup on Chicago’s hottest electronic beachfront festival. The festival, taking place July 5th-7th will feature some of the biggest names in dance music today and is sure to be a hot spot for some amazing and unique opportunities. Think American Ibiza. This festival will bring together talent that usually wouldn’t happen unless it was down in Miami or over in Europe (Or of course, in Detroit for Movement). NEW TUNE: Freddy Todd – “RAW’D” (Till I Die) Feat. Note [Off Upcoming 'Moonflavours' Album Out 4/25]

Next week, on April 25th, Freddy will drop the latest addition to his already flexing catalog through the form of a free album entitled Moonflavours.  Described as his “more chill release”, Freddy gives us a glimpse of what we can expect with the first single to surface from the release dubbed “RAW’D” (Till I Die) featuring San Diego’s Note. Freddy puts the “hop” back in “glitch-hop” with this one meshing together hip-hop and electro-glitchy vibes on one solid track; something that so far, we find only FT can master. The track is available for stream and will be available next week for FREE download with the rest of the Moonflavours album in entirety. For now, warm up your subs because it’s about to get bumpy!

NEW TUNE: GeoVybe – “Gyrodope Latte” (FREE Download)

One of our favorites, and part of the Curated Music family is GeoVybe. The young producer (and half of Ternidup) has been working non-stop on his productions and the results are showing in his latest tune entitled “Gyrodope Latte“. Featuring a gangster beat, GeoVybe combines the best elements of lazer-bass, glitch-hop, and trap, into this extra hard track. Following his Vybrational Geometry EP, also released for free download, this tune must be heard! We are super excited to bring you more tunes from the young producer as we watch his talents and name grow until GeoVybe is at the top. Cheers!
