HeRobust has been on the bass music radar for sometime now, but some of his most recent singe releases, “Turn Ape” and “Cosmo Def“, have proven that he has developed his own signature glitchy trap sound that sets his music aside from other progressive trap and bass music producers. HeRobust takes it to the next level with his new Busted House EP, an experimental merger of trapped up club sounds.
The EP’s opener, “Flossed N Found”, welcomes us with the “damn son, where’d ya find this” sample that has been a staple of trap since it was originally used by DJs for hip-hop mixtapes “back in the day”. Although the sample may typically foreshadow driving 808 percussion and heavy bass throughout the EP, don’t expect the same style and sounds as the singles he released preceding this EP. Both “Flossed N Found” and “Arnold Facepalmer” have a club banging steady 4×4 beat, something we didn’t see much in his last ep, OG Status, and with the tune “Arnold Facepalmer” coming in at 128 bpm it probably best exemplifies the Busted House name. “Girls Gone Wildebeest” features some of the sounds we know and love from Mr. HeRobust, making a statement with some ultra glitchy bass hits and all sorts of sounds & samples perfectly arranged into organized chaos on the top. “Assault N Pepa” starts and ends with a super dirty break beat, and has some aggressive bouncing bass sandwiched in the middle.
The Busted House EP, and all of the HeRobust music mentioned can be found for free on his soundcloud. HeRobust is in the midst of a nationwide tour, you can and should catch him rolling through a venue near you!

We have been waiting for a bass collaboration that is as giant as HeRobust teaming up with gLAdiator. We finally have our wishes granted. The two trill icons have liberated an extremely hood beat on their fans. Imagine what would be blasting in your headphones if you were robbing a liquor store with semi-automatic weapons while beating Donkey Kong Land on Gameboy in it’s entirety at the same time and what you get is HeRobust and gLAdiator’s new track “We Are”. This is Southern ATL gangster beats colliding with futuristic West Coast L.A. bass and we absolutely LOVE it. Featuring samples from 2 Chainz, this track is on one. The best part is the tune is available for FREE download. Turn your bass up and go nuts to this one!
Showing his fans what true gangster music is, HeRobust has been on a roll with his turnt up tunes. His latest masterpiece, entitled “Cosmos Def“, comes at you hard. The track is self described as “electro-trap” but we find it to be too original to just fit into a genre. It is simply HeRobust music and it is damn gangster. We highly encourage you download this track and bump it as loud as you can while you go about your day; we bet you will feel much more “cool”. HeRobust will not be deterred from his rise to the top and we look forward to keeping you posted with all of his dank tracks! Cheers!

When we think of live music these days, its hard to not rank Big Gigantic as one of the growing greats.”We’re always just trying to learn from where we were at, from what we’ve done, and really try to push the envelope” expounds Big Gigantic producer and saxophonist Dominic Lalli, “Getting better, getting bigger, we’re definitely in that business.” Performing on a level that rivals any touring group in music today, Big Gigantic has gotten in the habit of doing things huge. On the front-end of their Winter Tour 2013, Dominic and drummer, Jeremy Salken are prepping for the biggest Big Gigantic tour yet. We had a minute to catch up with Dom yesterday and posted our phone Q&A below.
The Big Gigantic Winter Tour 2013 kicked off last week with a handful of dates in the south with support from trill twins Two Fresh. The tour features a brand new stage design that is bigger, badder, and better than anything you have seen from Big Gigantic before. With thirty stops on the tour, there is so much to look forward to. “We’re playing some awesome venues that we’ve never gotten to headline”, Dom excitedly explains, “We’re going to lots of places we really love to go too. It’s cool to be back in a lot of these cities”. The tour continues with support from Kill Paris, Manic Focus, and HeRobust on select dates.
We are also excited to hear that Big Gigantic is planning on releasing a new album come Fall. Dom tells us about keeping his production levels high on the road, “I’m always trying to figure out how to become more efficient. All I’m doing is working on music the whole time on this tour.” he explains. We are thankful for that and can’t wait to hear what the dynamic duo have in store for their fifth album. For now we can be sure to sneak some previews of the new tunes on this tour.
You can catch Big Gigantic on any of the Winter Tour 2013 stops. Big G rolls into Michigan this Friday, February 8th for a sold out performance at The Orbit Room in Grand Rapids followed by a huge show on Saturday, February 9th at Royal Oak Music Theater in Royal Oak. Get your tickets now because you definitely do not want to be left out. “This tour is turning out to be the best tour ever,” Dom proudly boasts and we look forward to being able to attest to that!

On the front end of their Winter Tour, Big Gigantic has huge plans to bring their all on the 30 stop adventure. Bringing along friends Two Fresh, Kill Paris, Manic Focus, and HeRobust on select dates, it appears that there will be some crazy shenanigans taking place on that bus (not to mention the potential collaborations!). The Winter Tour will be selling out most of their dates and we expect for sell outs for both Michigan Dates. Each May, our excitement builds with plans of traveling deep into the abyss of the Appalachians to explore Mulberry Mountain and it’s landmark, prolific, and now ‘decade-old’ Wakarusa Music Festival. Hosted by the great minds of Pipeline Productions, Wakarusa is more than just your average run-of-the-mill Summer camping festival, Waka offers much more.
With careful precision and detailed selection, the lineup for Wakarusa has grown to be one of the most original, unique, and simply put ‘large’ festival lineups in all of the US. For 2013, they have busted the locks on all the cages and set the beasts free. Boasting headliners Widespread Panic, Dispatch, STS9, The Black Crowes, Amon Tobin, Snoop Lion, and Umphrey’s McGee the eclectic talent spreads to all genres and will make any fan of festival music aroused. Perhaps, that is just the icing on the cake though.
One of our favorite attributes of Wakarusa is the fact that they have a keen sense for booking the next big up-and-coming performers. From launching the festival career of Pretty Lights, to providing a touring stop for artists buzzing in the underground scenes of each genre, Wakarusa is the ideal event to expand your musical tastes and knowledge. This Summer will follow suite with potential future headliners like GRiZ, HeRobust, RL Grime, Wick-it the Instigator, Baauer, Cherub, The Werks, and Zoogma commanding a chunk of the vibrant lineup.
On top of all of this, the environment at Wakarusa cannot be duplicated. Tucked away on top of the gorgeous Mulberry Mountain in the Appalachian hills of Arkansas, there is always time to stop, sit, and admire nature (or take a swim in the river). If you add it up, you are left with no choice: buy your tickets now, or you will be left out! Seriously, you don’t want to regret missing the beast that has grown to be Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival 2013. Well, now we are brought back to the fact that it is only mid-January. The anticipation has set in. We are wired for Waka.
We will continue to update you on Wakarusa 2013 announcements and news. You can also find the information onWaka’s website (www.wakarusa.com). You can purchase your tickets to Wakarusa now. Check out the Wakarusa Official 2013 Preview Video below as well as the full lineup.

Wakarusa has released their final installment of their 2013 lineup! This third release may be the biggest yet. With STS9, The Black Crowes, and Snoop Lion atop the list, the festival proves to stay eclectic and original. We are quite positive you will not find a lineup like this anywhere else in the world. Wakarusa 2013 is going to be absolutely huge. From GRiZ to Gogol Bordello, this is by far the biggest lineup that Waka has ever repped. We cannot wait to be back up on Mulberry Mountain!
HeRobust‘s “Busted” remix series is one of the best series of remixed tracks out there. Always creative and fresh, his remixes are genre bending, mashed up, turnt up, and maxed out tunes. In 2012, HeRobust released 12 “Busted” tunes of tracks from artists including Lil’ Wayne, Three 6 Mafia, Ludacris, and others. Out of the kindness of his heart (and by the countless request from fans), HeRobust has put together all the tracks and compiled them onto a FREE Download link just for YOU! And remember, don’t get busted!!!
As we reported earlier last week (along with the single “OG Status”), HeRobust has done it again with the full release of his “OG Status” EP! We have been bumping these tunes all week and we don’t plan on stopping. Be sure to keep up to date on everything HeRobust for this is a name that will be putting out great tunes and playing dope shows all throughout 2013! Check & download this banging 5-track “OG Status” EP now!
