To add on to all of the festivities, we here at Curated Music have teamed up with our friends at War Torn Entertainment to bring three nights of bumping parties to Detroit on the river. Join us Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights as we celebrate Movement, Detroit, and Summer. All of the events are located at Sindbad’s at 100 St Clair St  Detroit, MI 48214.

NEW MIX: Late Night Radio – ‘Grassroots California Mixtape’ (The 710 Cup Edition)

Prepping for a hefty Summer, Late Night Radio, or LNR, recorded this mini-mix (racking up a fitting 7 minutes and 10 seconds) for his upcoming gig at Grassroots California and Hitman Glass Summer Festival, The 710 Cup. NEW TUNE: Freddy Todd – “RAW’D” (Till I Die) Feat. Note [Off Upcoming 'Moonflavours' Album Out 4/25]

Next week, on April 25th, Freddy will drop the latest addition to his already flexing catalog through the form of a free album entitled Moonflavours.  Described as his “more chill release”, Freddy gives us a glimpse of what we can expect with the first single to surface from the release dubbed “RAW’D” (Till I Die) featuring San Diego’s Note. Freddy puts the “hop” back in “glitch-hop” with this one meshing together hip-hop and electro-glitchy vibes on one solid track; something that so far, we find only FT can master. The track is available for stream and will be available next week for FREE download with the rest of the Moonflavours album in entirety. For now, warm up your subs because it’s about to get bumpy!

NEW RELEASE: D.V.S. – ‘Hit The Clouds Running’ EP (FREE Download)

3185178013-1There was much to be excited about when Wakarusa festival released Brooklyn producer D.V.S.’s new collab track “Sleepwalker” yesterday. The song features dreamy vocals from Cherub and eerie violin from Govinda. The cloudy feeling of the melody has inspired me to begin formulating my “Hazy Summer” playlist.

Speaking of clouds, Sleepwalker is the opening track of D.V.S.’s full album Hit the Clouds Running EP released today. The entire album seems more uplifted in spirits than some of D.V.S.’s earlier, harder tracks. Up-beat dance tempos and Ratatat sounding guitars bring sparkling images to the mind. I can especially appreciate the track Heartmaps for its modern disco feel. Trapsody in Blue is a trip and it is exactly 4:20 long – go figure. NEW RELEASES: The Polish Ambassador – ‘Ecozoic’ Song Releases (FREE Download)

Future space beat producer, The Polish Ambassador is at it again and he is bringing some new organic sounds in his upcoming album: Ecozoic.  The album will be out on May 7th and a new track will be leaked every Tuesday leading up to the release date.  Four songs have been set free and they are pretty damn golden.  ”New Funk Millenium” is a chilled out tune that gives you some of those sexy Superpowers vibes while “Invisible Frontiers” brings you that TPA known glitchy beat.  ”Two and a Half Moons Away” features reggae island beats and “Rootshire Revival” blends swing, blues, and hip-hop in that way that only TPA can master.  We aren’t quite sure when Ecozoic will wrap up, but we will continue to keep you posted. NEW RELEASE: HeRobust – ‘Busted House’ EP (FREE Download)

artworks-000042147451-89h1hx-t500x500HeRobust has been on the bass music radar for sometime now, but some of his most recent singe releases, “Turn Ape” and “Cosmo Def“, have proven that he has developed his own signature glitchy trap sound that sets his music aside from other progressive trap and bass music producers. HeRobust takes it to the next level with his new Busted House EP, an experimental merger of trapped up club sounds.

The EP’s opener, “Flossed N Found”, welcomes us with the “damn son, where’d ya find this” sample that has been a staple of trap since it was originally used by DJs for hip-hop mixtapes “back in the day”. Although the sample may typically foreshadow driving 808 percussion and heavy bass throughout the EP, don’t expect the same style and sounds as the singles he released preceding this EP. Both “Flossed N Found” and “Arnold Facepalmer” have a club banging steady 4×4 beat, something we didn’t see much in his last ep, OG Status, and with the tune “Arnold Facepalmer” coming in at 128 bpm it probably best exemplifies the Busted House name. “Girls Gone Wildebeest” features some of the sounds we know and love from Mr. HeRobust, making a statement with some  ultra glitchy bass hits and all sorts of sounds & samples perfectly arranged into organized chaos on the top. “Assault N Pepa” starts and ends with a super dirty break beat, and has some aggressive bouncing bass sandwiched in the middle.

The Busted House EP, and all of the HeRobust music mentioned can be found for free on his soundcloud. HeRobust is in the midst of a nationwide tour, you can and should catch him rolling through a venue near you!
