It is clear that Emancipator‘s heart and soul went into producing his newest and fourth full length album Dusk to Dawnwhich dropped today on his newly formed LoCi Records. The album features a revamped Emancipator sound, a bit more electric, much more worldly, and much more mature. We have been huge Emancipator fans since we first heard his tunes a few years ago. Since then we have listened to the Emancipator sound develop and morph into the smoothest combinations of electro, instrumentals percussion, and all different elements and styles of production.
It is a pleasure to listen to Emancipator and it is something we here at Curated Music partake in often. The album showcases 10 brand new beautiful, original studio tracks and includes collaborations and features from many artists like D.V.S. contributing guitar, and Dominic Lalli of Big Gigantic contributing saxophone to tracks. Of course, the infamous strings of Ilya Goldberg can be heard on quite a few of the tracks. We are falling in love with Emancipator all over again.
In the midst of his huge Winter Tour with support from Tor, Mux Mool, Eliot Lipp, and others, the Portland based producer has truly put the album title ‘Dusk to Dawn’ to real meaning, staying up through the night, show after show, with violinist and right hand man Ilya Goldberg to perfect the album and add the finishing touches. It is exciting to be able to listen to tracks this fresh. Be sure you listen and grab your copy of Emancipator’s new album, Dusk to Dawn out now on LoCi Records. Cheers!

One of our favorite Colorado based artists, Two Fresh, just slammed a huge one on the world with the release of their new Watch This EP that just dropped tonight. Previewing a tune from the 5-track release, “12PM” last week, we were stoked on this release. Premiered by Thissongissick.com, the tunes feature a fresh, smooth, trill sound from the dynamic twins. Working with old and new sounding synthesizers onto banging 808 drum packs, the release has a true OG throwback trap feel. We encourage you to bump this in a candy purple drop-top Chevy with a pair of 12″s in the trunk. Two Fresh proves that they can keep up with all the heavyweights in the trap game today with this release. Not that we didn’t already know that. Turn your subs up, light up some purp blunts, and bump this new EP from Two Fresh available for FREE download.
Two Fresh are some of the coolest cats in the game. Always cooking up fresh beats, there’s no exception with their latest track “12PM“. The track, premiered by ThisSongIsSick.com, will be featured on the upcoming Watch This! EP dropping from the group on the 28th of Jan. We are excited to catch these fellas on tour and watch them get it turnt’ up. Be sure to grab your FREE download of the trill tune and bump it loud! CHEERS!
Each May, our excitement builds with plans of traveling deep into the abyss of the Appalachians to explore Mulberry Mountain and it’s landmark, prolific, and now ‘decade-old’ Wakarusa Music Festival. Hosted by the great minds of Pipeline Productions, Wakarusa is more than just your average run-of-the-mill Summer camping festival, Waka offers much more.
With careful precision and detailed selection, the lineup for Wakarusa has grown to be one of the most original, unique, and simply put ‘large’ festival lineups in all of the US. For 2013, they have busted the locks on all the cages and set the beasts free. Boasting headliners Widespread Panic, Dispatch, STS9, The Black Crowes, Amon Tobin, Snoop Lion, and Umphrey’s McGee the eclectic talent spreads to all genres and will make any fan of festival music aroused. Perhaps, that is just the icing on the cake though.
One of our favorite attributes of Wakarusa is the fact that they have a keen sense for booking the next big up-and-coming performers. From launching the festival career of Pretty Lights, to providing a touring stop for artists buzzing in the underground scenes of each genre, Wakarusa is the ideal event to expand your musical tastes and knowledge. This Summer will follow suite with potential future headliners like GRiZ, HeRobust, RL Grime, Wick-it the Instigator, Baauer, Cherub, The Werks, and Zoogma commanding a chunk of the vibrant lineup.
On top of all of this, the environment at Wakarusa cannot be duplicated. Tucked away on top of the gorgeous Mulberry Mountain in the Appalachian hills of Arkansas, there is always time to stop, sit, and admire nature (or take a swim in the river). If you add it up, you are left with no choice: buy your tickets now, or you will be left out! Seriously, you don’t want to regret missing the beast that has grown to be Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival 2013. Well, now we are brought back to the fact that it is only mid-January. The anticipation has set in. We are wired for Waka.
We will continue to update you on Wakarusa 2013 announcements and news. You can also find the information onWaka’s website (www.wakarusa.com). You can purchase your tickets to Wakarusa now. Check out the Wakarusa Official 2013 Preview Video below as well as the full lineup.

On the midst of their feature tour, Just Blaze and Baauer lay a big one on the trap world. The new release “Higher” is a banger trill tune ready to get all the ratchets twerkin in the club. We grew up bumping Just Blaze everyday with huge subs in the whip, we are for sure going to have to take this heavy track for a spin! “Higher” goes H.A.M. on all levels. You can find Just Blaze and Baauer touring together throughout the country up through mid Feburary. We are so stoked that Just Blaze has broke into the dance scene with fellow trap comrades. We expect a huge successful tour with support from our homies Two Fresh. The tour stops in our hometown of Detroit on Friday, Feb. 25 with React Presents at Elektricity (TICKETS). We can’t wait to get down with these turnt up fellas! Check out “HIGHER” and check out Just Blaze, Baauer, and Two Fresh coming to a city near you!

Wakarusa has released their final installment of their 2013 lineup! This third release may be the biggest yet. With STS9, The Black Crowes, and Snoop Lion atop the list, the festival proves to stay eclectic and original. We are quite positive you will not find a lineup like this anywhere else in the world. Wakarusa 2013 is going to be absolutely huge. From GRiZ to Gogol Bordello, this is by far the biggest lineup that Waka has ever repped. We cannot wait to be back up on Mulberry Mountain!
Savoy is planning to take over the game this year. With some of the most powerful music, lasers, and fans in the scene, Savoy has built a force that will be hard to reckon with. Their latest release, Personal Legend EP features some epic sounds including a HUGE collaboration with fellow Colorado based producers Big Gigantic entitled “Aftershock”. The album is heavy on the electro side and gives us a taste of a much more mature and fine tuned Savoy. The big tunes are ready to tear up huge dancefloors and will get massive crowds moving. We are so stoked on this release! On the brink of a huge National tour, ending at Wakarusa Music Festival, the trio is planning on bringing out tricks and surprises that are bigger than anything ever seen before from Savoy.
Two Fresh is turning the sexy up on the trill meter with their latest remix of SWV’s “Rain”. Featuring a smooth drum pattern and fly samples from the stunning track, this tune is dropping just in time for Valentine’s Day next month! We appreciate anything that Two Fresh puts out. We had the pleasure of catching Two Fresh perform a number of times last summer and boy oh boy do they get the crowd turnt up! With their new EP Watch This! dropping on Jan. 28th and on the cusps of a giant Winter tour, the gentleman of Two Fresh are about to get 2013 twerking on a whole different level. Enjoy this gorgeous remix and be sure to grab your free download!
