Shut the blinds and lock your doors; gLAdiator and Stooki Sound are coming for you. The two bass banging entities have teamed up from all the way across the globe to create one hell of a tune. The ear pleaser, entitled “Scared Now” features some of the cleanest trap we have heard since before the major movement. This massively creepy banger will turn any boring moment into a turnt-up, gangster, hyphy party. Imagine playing a game of Guess Who when all the sudden you get scooped up to go on a bank heist or a car jack… THIS would be the soundtrack. Be sure to grab your free download, put your hood up, and act like you know, because gLAdiator and Stooki Sound have come to play with this one!
Party starters Major Lazer has a new album coming out on April 16th entitled Free The Universe. Expected to be one of the largest electronic releases of the past few years (behind the upcoming Random Access Memories of course), Free The Universe has been highly anticipated from fans, critics, and fellow artists alike. Originally set and planned to be released by now, Diplo and team Major Lazer want to be sure that ‘FTU’ is perfected and marketed to the T. We expect to hear sounds old and new on the upcoming album as well as features from other large names in music.
Major Lazer released the following statement in regards to the album delay and the Laser Strikes Back series:
“The upcoming album, “FREE THE UNIVERSE,” has been been kidnapped by General Rubbish and we all must embark on an epic journey to upset his evil plan so we can free the universe as planned with the album.
Our fans are the most important part of what makes Major Lazer what it is. It is with that consideration that “FREE THE UNIVERSE” will not be released this month as previously scheduled. We never want to disappoint our supporters but circumstances out of our control have made us unable to keep the intended date. For anyone disappointed, we are truly apologetic and we promise that this hiccup has only made what we have planned for the album stronger. We tried extremely hard to keep the date but it was ultimately decided that rushing the album would have been unfair to you and everyone who worked so hard on it. An iTunes exclusive pre-order in the US will launch next Tuesday, 2/26 which will feature an instant grat download of “Watch Out for This (Bumaye).”
Valentino Khan has ignited his raise to the top with his latest release, gangster tune “Twerk 4 Gold” available for FREE download. Releasing banging tunes consistently and working with some of the biggest names in the moombahton and trap scenes, Valentino Khan is only doing what he know’s best. Coming from a background of producing hip-hop tunes for some of the illest rappers in the industry, putting Khan in with the new trap craze is like throwing a kid in a candy store with no authority. It is apparent Valentino Khan knows how to compose a beat that will get you sweating. We have fun listening to Valentino Khan’s music and you will too! Cheers!
Baauer is on top of the trap world right now. With his huge release with Just Blaze last night, “Higher“, he follows it up with a powerful minimix for Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 Show. The 5-minute mix packs a gangster punch and really gets us excited to see him live on tour with Just Blaze and Two Fresh this Winter. There is no doubting that Baauer sets the trill standard. Enjoy this mini-mix!!

Each May, our excitement builds with plans of traveling deep into the abyss of the Appalachians to explore Mulberry Mountain and it’s landmark, prolific, and now ‘decade-old’ Wakarusa Music Festival. Hosted by the great minds of Pipeline Productions, Wakarusa is more than just your average run-of-the-mill Summer camping festival, Waka offers much more.
With careful precision and detailed selection, the lineup for Wakarusa has grown to be one of the most original, unique, and simply put ‘large’ festival lineups in all of the US. For 2013, they have busted the locks on all the cages and set the beasts free. Boasting headliners Widespread Panic, Dispatch, STS9, The Black Crowes, Amon Tobin, Snoop Lion, and Umphrey’s McGee the eclectic talent spreads to all genres and will make any fan of festival music aroused. Perhaps, that is just the icing on the cake though.
One of our favorite attributes of Wakarusa is the fact that they have a keen sense for booking the next big up-and-coming performers. From launching the festival career of Pretty Lights, to providing a touring stop for artists buzzing in the underground scenes of each genre, Wakarusa is the ideal event to expand your musical tastes and knowledge. This Summer will follow suite with potential future headliners like GRiZ, HeRobust, RL Grime, Wick-it the Instigator, Baauer, Cherub, The Werks, and Zoogma commanding a chunk of the vibrant lineup.
On top of all of this, the environment at Wakarusa cannot be duplicated. Tucked away on top of the gorgeous Mulberry Mountain in the Appalachian hills of Arkansas, there is always time to stop, sit, and admire nature (or take a swim in the river). If you add it up, you are left with no choice: buy your tickets now, or you will be left out! Seriously, you don’t want to regret missing the beast that has grown to be Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival 2013. Well, now we are brought back to the fact that it is only mid-January. The anticipation has set in. We are wired for Waka.
We will continue to update you on Wakarusa 2013 announcements and news. You can also find the information onWaka’s website (www.wakarusa.com). You can purchase your tickets to Wakarusa now. Check out the Wakarusa Official 2013 Preview Video below as well as the full lineup.

On the midst of their feature tour, Just Blaze and Baauer lay a big one on the trap world. The new release “Higher” is a banger trill tune ready to get all the ratchets twerkin in the club. We grew up bumping Just Blaze everyday with huge subs in the whip, we are for sure going to have to take this heavy track for a spin! “Higher” goes H.A.M. on all levels. You can find Just Blaze and Baauer touring together throughout the country up through mid Feburary. We are so stoked that Just Blaze has broke into the dance scene with fellow trap comrades. We expect a huge successful tour with support from our homies Two Fresh. The tour stops in our hometown of Detroit on Friday, Feb. 25 with React Presents at Elektricity (TICKETS). We can’t wait to get down with these turnt up fellas! Check out “HIGHER” and check out Just Blaze, Baauer, and Two Fresh coming to a city near you!

Flosstradamus is back in action with the latest installment in the “Banned” mixtape series with Banned 2. We first caught a glimpse of the release when J2K of Floss showed us a video clip of the mix from his hotel room. This collection of stunners features tracks new and old from some of our favorites including a LOUDPVCK x gLAdiator collaboration and a track Flosstradamus did with our hometown hero Danny Brown. This mix, just over a half hour, will get you leanin. The OG Hoodie Boyz of Flosstradamus are lighting it up with this trill mix.
Wakarusa has released their final installment of their 2013 lineup! This third release may be the biggest yet. With STS9, The Black Crowes, and Snoop Lion atop the list, the festival proves to stay eclectic and original. We are quite positive you will not find a lineup like this anywhere else in the world. Wakarusa 2013 is going to be absolutely huge. From GRiZ to Gogol Bordello, this is by far the biggest lineup that Waka has ever repped. We cannot wait to be back up on Mulberry Mountain!
Baauer is about to drop another bomb on the trap scene. Making tunes that the rest of the producers in his clique can’t quite seem to grasp studio wise, he follows up with a new track entitled “Slip” which premiered/previewed on BBC Radio 1 and was posted on ThisSongIsSick.com earlier tonight. Baauer never fails to amaze us. This tune is crazy future trap and we cannot wait to hear more. When we know details on this release or others from Baauer, you know we will be reporting them here! Have a listen and stay trill!
