All eyes are on Baltimore as the first annual Moonrise Festival is to take place this June on the 8th and 9th at Port Covington in Downtown Baltimore. The massive music festival features hundreds of performers from some of the biggest names in the business including Pretty Lights, Avicii, and Snoop Lion, as well as some of the hottest up and coming acts like, Alex Young, GTA, and Mayhem. In an age where it seems every major American city has it’s own distinguishing music festival, it is about time Steez Promo put Baltimore on the map with the creation of Moonrise Festival. Tickets are available now and are moving quickly. We hope to see you in B’More!!
Each May, our excitement builds with plans of traveling deep into the abyss of the Appalachians to explore Mulberry Mountain and it’s landmark, prolific, and now ‘decade-old’ Wakarusa Music Festival. Hosted by the great minds of Pipeline Productions, Wakarusa is more than just your average run-of-the-mill Summer camping festival, Waka offers much more.
With careful precision and detailed selection, the lineup for Wakarusa has grown to be one of the most original, unique, and simply put ‘large’ festival lineups in all of the US. For 2013, they have busted the locks on all the cages and set the beasts free. Boasting headliners Widespread Panic, Dispatch, STS9, The Black Crowes, Amon Tobin, Snoop Lion, and Umphrey’s McGee the eclectic talent spreads to all genres and will make any fan of festival music aroused. Perhaps, that is just the icing on the cake though.
One of our favorite attributes of Wakarusa is the fact that they have a keen sense for booking the next big up-and-coming performers. From launching the festival career of Pretty Lights, to providing a touring stop for artists buzzing in the underground scenes of each genre, Wakarusa is the ideal event to expand your musical tastes and knowledge. This Summer will follow suite with potential future headliners like GRiZ, HeRobust, RL Grime, Wick-it the Instigator, Baauer, Cherub, The Werks, and Zoogma commanding a chunk of the vibrant lineup.
On top of all of this, the environment at Wakarusa cannot be duplicated. Tucked away on top of the gorgeous Mulberry Mountain in the Appalachian hills of Arkansas, there is always time to stop, sit, and admire nature (or take a swim in the river). If you add it up, you are left with no choice: buy your tickets now, or you will be left out! Seriously, you don’t want to regret missing the beast that has grown to be Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival 2013. Well, now we are brought back to the fact that it is only mid-January. The anticipation has set in. We are wired for Waka.
We will continue to update you on Wakarusa 2013 announcements and news. You can also find the information onWaka’s website (www.wakarusa.com). You can purchase your tickets to Wakarusa now. Check out the Wakarusa Official 2013 Preview Video below as well as the full lineup.

Wakarusa has released their final installment of their 2013 lineup! This third release may be the biggest yet. With STS9, The Black Crowes, and Snoop Lion atop the list, the festival proves to stay eclectic and original. We are quite positive you will not find a lineup like this anywhere else in the world. Wakarusa 2013 is going to be absolutely huge. From GRiZ to Gogol Bordello, this is by far the biggest lineup that Waka has ever repped. We cannot wait to be back up on Mulberry Mountain!
Earlier this week we reported on an article that originated from the Huson Valley’s Daily Freeman Newspaper and quickly caught wind around the edm festival blogosphere. The article reported the acquisition of the proper approval from the Town Board of Saugerties, NY that would allow for a music festival to be held this July on the same land that once held Woodstock ’94. The article goes on to reference that the MCP Presents festival, CounterPoint Music Festival, which launched its first year last Summer in Atlanta, is rumored to be the festival in play, saying the Town Board granted unanimous “approval for the considerably smaller CounterPoint Music and Arts Festival to be held July 11-13 at the Winston Farm”. The article was published on January 11th by the Daily Freeman. Ultimately, this can all be chalked up to one big rumor.
First of all, we would like to apologize to our followers and fellow bloggers for jumping the gun on reporting from a shotty source. Although, we are still unclear about the exact details of the Town Board meeting in Saugerties, we are sure of one thing: CounterPoint Music Festival will be STAYING in Atlanta. This morning we received an email from CounterPoint Music Festival’s press relations team, Caren West PR, that cleared up the most important part of this rumor: Atlanta is the home of CounterPoint and CounterPoint is NOT moving to New York. The other topic in the issue surrounding MCP Presents’ involvement with the addition of another upstate New York festival are still not clear and will not be considered official until news is reported from MCP themselves. CounterPoint 2013 will return to Atlanta later in the Summer and will be a festival that YOU cannot miss! Stay tuned to CounterPoint’s Facebook page for daily updates!
CounterPoint Music Festival launched their inaugural festival last September in Atlanta with a bang. Now, news is breaking from The Hudson Valley’s Daily Freeman newspaper that the Saugerties, NY town board approved the use of land at Winston Farm, the site that once held Woodstock 94, for a new proposed CounterPoint Music Festival to be held July 11th-13th. The proposed new CounterPoint Music Festival is reported to take the place of the over a decade old Camp Bisco Festival, also previously held in upstate New York (and also co-produced by MCP Presents, who are behind CounterPoint). We are still not sure of what is to come in regards to this news and in regard to whether or not there will be Atlanta dates for CounterPoint as well. The Daily Freeman article goes on to discuss the potential lineup announcement planned to take place within the next two weeks, so keep your eyes out for more news.
