“We were sitting in the office going through the mountain of promos in our inbox, when we found an email by a British producer named Castro. We opened it, not knowing what to expect, and what we found was Toot Toot, one of the most addictive zouk bass tunes we’ve heard since the whole craze started in the Boiler Room. We just had to have it here and now.

Join us in welcoming Castro, a British producer whose background as a percussionist and love of ethnic rhythms gives his tracks a distinctive bounce, which he complements with an extensive knowledge of the dancefloor’s demands. In the latest track on the Upper Cuts series, Castro pairs up heavy drums with vibrant synths and colorful melodies, all under the hypnotic 90bpm pace that Buraka helped to popularize, with some moombah elements and vocal samples thrown in for good measure.
