OUR FORECASTLE FESTIVAL 2014 FAVORITES:

Located on Kentucky’s Waterfront Park, Forecastle has brought countless big name artists such as Girl Talk, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Z-Trip, RJD2 and many others over the past years. It’s reported an annual attendance of roughly 75,000, and the festival has rapidly expanded ever since it’s debut in 2002. Along with attracting hundreds of local, regional and national artists Forecastle also provides a meeting ground for non-profit organizations and top-notch eats.

Before you take your first step into Louisville this Friday to chase down the sound, world-class BBQ and bourbon, make sure to join us on this write-up on some of the artists you shouldn’t miss during your adventures this year:

Mim0sa / Oakland, California (Friday, 3:00pm – 4:00pm @ Ocean Stage)

Hip-hop, Dubstep, Soul and an overall unique sound is what’s going to get thrown down from veteran producer Mim0sa. A performer with a lengthy list of of massive performances at legendary festivals – (Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, Global Dance Fest @ Red Rocks) Mim0sa’s sound will always stand out against your run of the mill 1-2-3 jump DJ’s. Flume / Sydney, Australia (Sunday 8:45pm – 9:45pm @ Ocean Stage)

Although you won’t find any kangaroos (well, at least that’s what we think) in Louisville you will get the chance to see legendary producer Flume. Critically acclaimed and well received around the world, Flume’s story has evolved from his bedroom to some of the world’s most premier festivals. FB / TWITTER

KYGO / Fana Bergen, Norway (Saturday 6:30pm – 7:30pm @Ocean Stage)

As one of the younger faces on the scene, Kygo clocks in at the ripe age of 22 and has already accomplished more than most people twice his age. Like many popular DJ’s KYGO began his career by remixing popular tracks. However, unlike many artists he was able to gain the attention of Chris Martain (Coldplay) to create an official remix and racked up millions upon millions of views (50+ million combined) on Soundcloud & Youtube. Make sure to catch this young producer early in his career! FB / TWITTER
