Wouldn’t it be something if an event the size of X Games came to our hometown of Detroit? Well, the dream may be more of a reality now that Detroit is one of four finalists to be the next host for the Summer X Games in 2014, 15′, and 16′ thanks to Kevin Krease & Garret Koehler who took their passion to the internet and gathered a huge following. There couldn’t be a city who needs an event like this more than Detroit and to see our bid go this far is great. It is time now, to step up to the plate and begin supporting the bid like you couldn’t have thought of. Up against Chicago, Charlotte, and Austin, we have a great chance to show the World that not only is our urban playground the perfect venue for the X Games but our community is the perfect demographic for this event. With the support of seemingly every Detroit representative and business owner, the team has been able to build credit for Detroit and will hopefully soon call this city the proud home of the Summer X Games!
Today, the XGamesDetroit crew released this stunning official video documenting a taste of our urban landscape meshed with insane extreme sports. We hope you find this as amazing as we do and we also hope you can join the cause!

About 15 minutes ago, Pete Tong took to his Facebook page to announce that Daft Punk will be joining him on the airwaves for this Friday’s edition of his BBC Radio One show. We are not quite clear on the details of the show but we do know that if it is anything like their last BBC visit in 97′ where they recorded their infamous essential mix, we will be in store for a treat. We can hopefully expect to hear some exclusive listens of their upcoming album Random Access Memoriesand for that we will be sure to stay tuned to our radios come this Friday night at 9 pm.
Just about a week ago, Diplo, Skrillex, and A-trak revealed a new project with the name “Potato Will Eat You“. Packaged with a couple unique Youtube snippets and a very popular hashtag #PotatoWillEatYou, we were itching to know the idea behind this strange little potato character popping up on all of our news feeds. A few days later our speculations were put to rest and we were excited to learn that Potato Will Eat You is a brand new Youtube Music Network that will rival the golden days of MTV. The network will play host to all original video series including titles, ”Blow Your Head”, “Cosmo’s Crates”, “Short Cuts”, “Listen Up! With Ralph Moore”, “Video Killed The Radio”, “Big Time #1 Super Adventures With Fat Jew”, and “BANG!” plus tons of video & audio premieres, DJ mixes, and much more. The first videos to be released by the future media hub is the first episode of “BANG!” (features tons of amazing Detroit footage) and a preview of “Blow Your Head” and we are very impressed! We will be keeping our eyes peeled to Potato Will Eat You with hopes that they can restore MUSIC into videos! #PotatoWillEatYou

2013 is shaping up nicely for L.A. natives and trap DJ/producer duo, gLAdiator. Following a string of huge performances in 2012, the duo announced today that they have signed with the mighty bookings firm and powerhouse, AM Only. They will be joining a roster of prominent influential DJs and producers in the EDM scene. This should bring huge performances from gLAdiator in the near future.
In celebration, and to follow up with their mixtape series into the new year, gLAdiator released the first episode of the second volume of their hyphy mixtape series. This year, the theme of their mixtape art covers will be “NBA poster dunks”. Maybe because it’s because gLAdiator is about to bring down the house Kobe style this year. WE think so! News from International EDM superstar Avicii, that he will be launching a project to bring about a collaboration with YOU. The AVICIIXYOU Project aims to seek out ideas from individuals to build into one huge single release. The submission process asks for any form of contribution, be it a sample, lyrics, bass-line, etc. To quote Avicii on AVICIIXYOU, the project is setting out to “make a really cool song out of so many peoples’ ideas, actually trying to involve alot of people.
Quoted from the AVICIIXYOU website:
“I’m about to kick off the world’s largest music collaboration – and I want to work with you! Up for the challenge? Scroll down, watch the video and download the chord progression I’ve created for you. The project web site launches in early January. Get ready to become part of music history” – Avicii
Given it was New Year’s Eve, there is never an excuse to disobey and disrespect a show by attacking the performer. In this case, a crazy (and probably wasted) fan at Bassnectar‘s 360 NYE event in Nashville, TN, climbed on stage and took a dive at the night’s direct support and Atlanta producer Treasure Fingers. Luckily, Treasure Fingers is a boss and can’t be distracted by such a clown. Apparently most the crowd had no clue anything like this happened and all the fans in the crowd were blown away by the night’s music. Check out Treasure Finger’s post via Instagram & Twitter from Jan. 1, the morning after the event. We sure hope this guy gets the black list from all future events!
