CONTEST: Big Gigantic Comes To Michigan For Two Special Nights (WIN TICKETS)

On the front end of their Winter Tour, Big Gigantic has huge plans to bring their all on the 30 stop adventure. Bringing along friends Two Fresh, Kill Paris, Manic Focus, and HeRobust on select dates, it appears that there will be some crazy shenanigans taking place on that bus (not to mention the potential collaborations!). The Winter Tour will be selling out most of their dates and we expect for sell outs for both Michigan Dates. Big Gigantic will be rolling into Michigan on Feb. 8th in Grand Rapids at the Orbit Room and then playing the next night on Feb. 9th in Royal Oak at the Royal Oak Music Theater. Tickets are on sale for all tour dates now or you can test your luck and try and win tickets to your choice of either of the Michigan dates!

NEW TUNE: Avicii – “Three Million” (Feat. Negin) [FREE Download To Celebrate 3 Million Fans]

Avicii has hit yet another milestone reaching three million fans on Facebook this past night. To celebrate the achievement, Avicii has decided to release a tune he made featuring Negin entitled “Three Million” and put it out for free download. The tune features a super heavy house beat with huge vocals from the beautiful Negin. The tune is guaranteed to get his packed club shows and huge festival crowds moving. Making everyone get down is Avicii’s thing. We are stoked on any release from Avicii. Can’t lie, we dig all his tunes! We hope you do too!

FESTY NEWS: Movement Electronic Music Festival 2013 Announces Lineup (Phase 1)

Hold on to your seats, Movement is back and they have filled us in on the first round of artists that we can expect to see at this year’s festival. Hosted in our hometown of Detroit by the experienced dance music powerhouse Paxahau, Movement is always one of the biggest and baddest dance festivals in the world. Taking place each year over Memorial Day Weekend at the gorgeous and newly renovated Hart Plaza, this year is planned to be the biggest yet. With Kevin Saunderson, Big Gigantic, Richie Hawtin, The M Machine, SuperVision, and so many more on the first lineup announcement it is clear that Movement isn’t playing around this year. The rich history of Movement and the Detroit techno scene insures that Movement Electronic Music Festival will always be a spectacle and will be one of the most supported international electronic music events by both fans and artists in the dance community. We are excited to see what the rest of the lineup has in store for us and we are even more excited to be frolicking around Hart Plaza. We will be counting down the days until May 25th.

NEW TUNE: Young Buck – “Get Buck” (OG Status x i.V. Remix) [FREE Download]

It’s about time somebody gave Young Buck the proper remix. All it took was the dreadful combination of trill all stars OG Status and i.V. These two raising trap producer entities offer everything you can want in a proper gangster banger. Taking one of our favorite Young Buck tunes, “Get Buck” and giving it a complete modern ratchet makeover, turning it inside out and adding heavy hitting percussion and synths. This is just the latest joint from OG Status and i.V., you can expect to see them perform together and possibly even hear some more collaborations from the group in the future. They will both be featured at this year’s SXSW in the Real Trap Showcase. We are hoping to make it out to catch them. NEW RELEASE: Emancipator ‘Dusk to Dawn’ (LoCi Records) [10-Track Album Out Now]

It is clear that Emancipator‘s heart and soul went into producing his newest and fourth full length album Dusk to Dawn which dropped today on his newly formed LoCi Records. The album features a revamped Emancipator sound, a bit more electric, much more worldly, and much more mature. We have been huge Emancipator fans since we first heard his tunes a few years ago. Since then we have listened to the Emancipator sound develop and morph into the smoothest combinations of electro, instrumentals percussion, and all different elements and styles of production.

It is a pleasure to listen to Emancipator and it is something we here at Curated Music partake in often. The album showcases 10 brand new beautiful, original studio tracks and includes collaborations and features from many artists like D.V.S. contributing guitar, and Dominic Lalli of Big Gigantic contributing saxophone to tracks. Of course, the infamous strings of Ilya Goldberg can be heard on quite a few of the tracks. We are falling in love with Emancipator all over again.

In the midst of his huge Winter Tour with support from Tor, Mux Mool, Eliot Lipp, and others, the Portland based producer has truly put the album title ‘Dusk to Dawn’ to real meaning, staying up through the night, show after show, with violinist and right hand man Ilya Goldberg to perfect the album and add the finishing touches. NEW RELEASE: Zeds Dead ‘Hot Sauce’ EP (6-Tracks Out Now)

Since the drop of their teaser video a couple weeks ago along with the announcement of the release we have been patiently awaiting the drop of Hot Sauce EP from our favorite Canadian bass producers Zeds Dead. A couple days ago, Zeds Dead have released a minimix of the album to give their fans a taste, it held us over for a minute, but nothing can do justice to the full release in entirety. This is the most eclectic and wide array of sounds we have heard from the talented duo ever perhaps. Spanning across all genres of music, Zeds Dead can validate themselves as producers adept to any scene. Hot Sauce EP is music we are most definitely getting down to and we know you will too. You can purchase the EP on iTunes and Beatport and you can catch Zeds Dead kicking off festival season early at Lollapalooza Brazil and Lollapalooza Argentina in March and April respectively, as well as a posted stop at Chicago’s React Presents: Spring Awakening Music Festival in June. We also expect to see them on a large number of other festivals and tour dates throught the year. Hot Suace EP will be cranking on our speakers!

NEW TUNE: Artifakts – “Turnt Up” (FREE Download)

It was only a matter of time before hip-hop inspired producer, Artifakts gave it a go in the trap music game. We are very happy to find this tune to be on par with all other Artifakts tunes. The new tune “Turnt Up” is a banger (you will get the “Damn Son” sample stuck in your head though). Uncovering his diversity as a young maturing producer, Artifakts will not be held down by the binds of genres. We are very excited to hear more tunes from Artifakts and we are stoked to see him doing his thing this Summer.
